Demarest: the Duck Pond has our standing reservation.

Demarest's Duck Pond is the Northern Valley's postcard — willows over still water, a stone edge, and light that goes golden early because of the tree line. Add the borough's 1872 brownstone railroad station and you have two of the most beloved family-portrait settings in eastern Bergen County inside one square mile.

Where do we photograph in Demarest?

In Demarest we photograph family sessions at the Duck Pond — willows over still water, the stone edge, golden light that arrives early — plus portraits at the 1872 brownstone railroad station, kids' sessions at Wakelee Field, and quiet frames on the grounds of the Old Church Cultural Center.

When is the light best in Demarest?

The Duck Pond's tree line cuts direct sun before the posted sunset hour, so its golden window starts early — we schedule accordingly. Willows green out in late April; the pond's October reflections are the Northern Valley's most reliable fall frame.

What we photograph in Demarest

Four practices, one studio.

Maximus Visions is a wedding photographer first — that's the work that built the studio. Around it we've built three more practices that share the same documentary eye, the same two-person team, and the same standard of finish.

  1. 01

    Wedding Photographer

    Primary practice

Documentary coverage, ceremony to last dance.

Our primary practice. Eight years of full-day wedding coverage across New Jersey and New York City — getting-ready through reception exit. We work in pairs, quietly, with a documentary eye and a deep familiarity with the venues, churches, synagogues, and country clubs in the Bergen and Passaic County corridor.

    • Full-day wedding photography
    • Wedding videography (cinematic edit)
    • Engagement sessions
    • Rehearsal dinner coverage
    • Bridal portraits & first look
    • Same-day social previews
  2. 02

    Photography Studio

A fully equipped studio for portraits, headshots & editorials.

Our Paramus studio is built for controlled-light portrait work — family, brand, headshot, and editorial sessions on backdrop and natural-light setups. We own our gear: Profoto strobes, medium-format and full-frame mirrorless bodies, prime glass, and tethered capture for in-session preview.

    • Studio family portraits
    • Professional headshots
    • Branding & founder portraits
    • Editorial & lookbook work
    • Maternity & newborn studio sessions
    • Tethered same-day proofing

    Aerial Photography

FAA Part 107 licensed drone coverage.

We are FAA Part 107 certified and insured for commercial drone operation. Aerial coverage adds a register no ground photographer can match — venue grounds, ceremony arrivals, large group portraits, real-estate-style estate establishing shots, and 4K aerial cinematography woven into wedding films.

    • Wedding venue aerial coverage
    • Aerial group portraits (50+ guests)
    • Estate & property aerials
    • 4K aerial wedding cinematography
    • Real-estate listing aerials
    • Aerial event documentation

    Event Photographer

Corporate, private, and milestone event coverage.

Beyond weddings, we cover the full calendar of events that matter — corporate galas, fundraisers, conferences, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, bar and bat mitzvahs, baby showers, and brand activations. Same documentary eye, same two-person team, scaled to the room.

    • Corporate gala & fundraiser coverage
    • Conference & keynote photography
    • Milestone birthdays & anniversaries
    • Bar & bat mitzvah coverage
    • Baby & bridal showers
    • Brand activations & launch events

Frequently asked — Demarest

How early should we arrive for a Duck Pond session in Demarest?

We schedule the session itself for the final two hours of light and ask families to arrive ten minutes early — the pond's tree line cuts direct sun sooner than open parks, so the golden window starts earlier here than the sunset time suggests. Weekday evenings are calmest.

Can we use the old Demarest train station in our photos?

Absolutely — the 1872 brownstone station is a registered landmark and one of our favorite backdrops for engagement sessions and kids' portraits alike. Its arched windows and slate roof read beautifully in black-and-white, and it pairs naturally with a Duck Pond finish.
